Melanie Ann Guinn Spangler

Melanie Ann Guinn Spangler, 54, of Lake Charles died at 12:29 AM on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in a local hospital.

Melanie was born on October 21, 1961 in Lake Charles where she was a graduate of Lake Charles High School. She continued her education at McNeese State University where she received a degree in art and education. Melanie was a bridal consultant for Serendipity and later worked in sales at Joseph’s Electrical Center. She had a talent of creativity and will be remembered for her keen eye for interior design and display as well as lighting design. Melanie appreciated her garden and took pleasure taking care of it.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sisters, Debbie Guinn Hughes (Matt) of Lake Charles and Gina Guinn Manuel (Jack) of Moss Bluff; nieces, Hannah Hughes and Regan Ratliff; nephew, Jacob Hughes; her partner of 30 years, Rolanda Waldroup of Lake Charles; a special cousin and caregiver, Randy Lanza of Lake Charles; and numerous cousins and special friends as well as extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Camille Lanza Guinn.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital and to the staff of Heart of Hospice for the care and compassion given to Melanie.

A private service will be held at a later date. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
