Funeral services for Mrs. Melba M. Leger, 80, of Sulphur, will be held at 2pm Thursday, August 12, 2010 in First Baptist Church of Sulphur. Dr. David Holder will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 11th from 5pm " until 9pm in Robison Funeral Home and resume on Thursday, August 12th from 12 Noon until time of service in First Baptist Church. Mrs. Leger passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010 in Sulphur surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Leger was met at the gates of Heaven by her husband of 64 years, Woodley H. Leger; Daughter, Darlene Hodnett; 4 Brothers: Kinsey, Shelby, Kirby and Floyd Ritter; 2 Sisters: Frankie Dubois and Jo Yellott; Great grandson: Joey Monfette; Great great grandchild: Alaina Nicolle Monfette and Son-in-law: Raynova Burck. Melba was a very loving, caring and dedicated mother and grandmother. She loved to spend time with her family and cherished her friends and church. She was past president of the Sulphur FFA Mothers Club and was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Sulphur. Survivors: Son: Monty Leger & wife Phyllis, Sulphur; 2 Daughters: Judith Burck, Riverside, Alabama; Ruby Robertson & husband Carter, Wisner, La.; 8 Grandchildren: Monty Ray Burck, Melba Monfette, Heaven Sherman, Roy Hodnett, Lanny Granger, Janice Leger, Jason Leger, Kyle Leger; 19 Great grandchildren; 8 Great great grandchildren; Sister: Sharon Guidry, Sulphur; Brother: Troy Ritter, Lafayette along with a host of other family and friends.
