Melinda Marie Hendricks-Fox

Melinda Marie Hendricks-Fox, 51, of Oakdale, LA, died at 8:17 AM on Friday, August 10, 2018 in an Alexandria, LA hospital.

Melinda was born October 10, 1966 in Eunice, LA, raised in LeBlanc and graduated from Reeves High School. She lived most of her adult life in Lake Charles before moving to Oakdale six years ago. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved to read. Melinda was very involved with her family and loved to spend time with them, especially her grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a wonderful woman with a heart of gold and as an honorary mom to many.

Melinda is survived by her husband, whom she’s been with for the past thirty-four years, Stuart Fox of Oakdale; sons, Darryl Keith Hendricks, Brandon Hendricks, both of Oakdale, Thomas Fox and wife Britney of DeRidder, and Steven Hendricks of Oakdale; sisters, Jewel Lanier of Pearland, TX and Ruby Trahan and husband Chris of Oakdale; brother, Jessie Hendricks, Jr. of LeBlanc; seven grandsons; and her great-niece and great-nephew that she loved like a grandchild, Quinn “Peanut” Lopez and Archer Lopez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Jessie Hendricks, Sr.; sister, Peggy Ruth Bond; and nephew, Forrest Pearce.

Her memorial service will be at 2:00PM on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Kevin Willis will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
