Melissa Renea Nunez

Melissa Renea Nunez, 48, passed from this life Monday May 16, 2022. She was an LPN nurse by profession, but her real job was raising her kids. Melissa loved to hunt and fish with her husband. She was very family oriented, kindhearted, and loving. Melissa loved to cook and feed her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Marixa Gutierrez (Antonio), Jeffery Nunez (Adrienne Hall), Krista Purvis (Matt), Kaitlyn Nunez (Steven Schexnayder); grandchildren, Joanna, Jasmine, Lacy, Pajie, Andrew, Gracie, Caleb, Weston, Josph, and soon to come Ethan; parents John Richard Thomas Jr. and Evaughn Jones Thomas; brothers, John Richard Thomas III (Jeannie Marie Deason), Jason Paul Thomas (Colinda), Jeffery Eric Thomas; sister Kristi Evaughn Thomas Hinton (Keith), and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Melissa was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, John Nunez Jr.; grandparents, John Richard Thomas Sr., Carmen Erseal Cooley Thomas, Jason Hicks Jones, Pearl Harvey Jones; nephew Andrew Stephen Thomas.

A funeral service for Melissa will be held at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 11 AM. The family will receive friends at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 5-8 PM and resume on Saturday at 9 AM
