Melvin Lee Kershaw, 63, of Sulphur passed away at 5:25 AM, Sunday, November 07, 2010 in his residence.
Mr. Kershaw was born in Lafayette and lived in the Sulphur/Hackberry area since 1995. He had worked as a Deck Hand for many years and also worked for the Southwest Daily News in Sulphur.
Survivors include his wife, Ada Dies Kershaw; two sons, Ivey Lee Kershaw, Sr. and Alfred Paul Kershaw; two grandsons; his father and stepmother, Alcee and Helen Kershaw; sisters, Elaine LaCombe, Barbara Ann Stevenson, Audrey Vincent, Anita Abshire, and Ann Peloquin,; brothers, John, Jacque, and Jessie Abshire; and special cousin, Brenda Frey.
His Memorial Mass will be, Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hackberry. Reverend Rommel Tolentino will officiate. A gathering of friends will be from 10:00 AM until time of service, Tuesday, at the church. The body was cremated under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
