Melvina Foreman Kroll, 77, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 6:05 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at a local care facility. Mrs. Kroll was born May 10, 1937 in Lake Charles, LA, lived in Chicago for seventeen years and has resided in Lake Charles for the past thirty years. She was a graduate of Marion High School and worked at Gulf States for a number of years prior to moving to Chicago. She worked as a secretary for several different companies throughout her career. She was a member of Apostolic Temple UPC, where she served as a hostess. Mrs. Kroll was an avid reader and a social butterfly. She was very headstrong and opinioned, but loved to talk and never met a stranger. She was very proud of her religion, loved to tell people about God and invite others to church with her. She was always caring towards others and always willing to help. Mrs. Kroll is survived by her brother, Louis Foreman and wife Janet; nieces, Melissa Hebert and husband Gary and Natalie Cruseturner and husband Daniel, all of Lake Charles; great-nieces and nephews, Kaila Hebert, Koby Hebert, Caroline Cruseturner and Eve Cruseturner; along with a multitude of friends and beloved church members. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Kroll; and parents, Melvin and Jennie Foreman. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Apostolic Temple UPC under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Reverends Ricky Treece, Jordan Anderson, C. D. Thornton, and Jeffery Ralston will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the church on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
