Merella Marie Kennedy

Merella Marie Kennedy passed away Friday June 27, 2014 at 3:43 pm at her residence in Ragley, Louisiana. Mrs. Merella was born in Mamou, Louisiana on June 14, 1940 and attended Mamou High School. She was employed at Lloyds Lounge for over 25 years and lived in Ragley for the past 33 years. She was very family oriented and loved to go on weekend getaways with her sisters and niece. Survivors include her two sons, Kurt Kennedy and wife Stephanie of Ragley, LA and Gary Kennedy of Texas; her daughter, Kim Kennedy Roy and husband Sherwin of Moss Bluff; LA, her four grandchildren,, Sabryna Kennedy of Ragley, Kourtney Kennedy of Moss Bluff, Kendall Kennedy of Moss Bluff and Beth Anne Roy of Moss Bluff; one sister, Shirley Fontenot and husband Wilber of Lake Charles. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert William Kennedy; parents Euge and Lillian Granger; three brothers, Rayford Granger, Allen Granger, and Alvin Granger; and two sisters, Grace Granger Vincent and Mary Granger Lisemby. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday July 1, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Scott DesOrmeaux will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Monday at 12:00 PM with a rosary to be held at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at 8:00 AM on Tuesday until the time of service.
