Merlene Odom Nicholas

Merlene Odom Nicholas, 74, of Lake Charles, LA died at 1:53 PM on Friday, December 30, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Nicholas is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Joseph Carl Nicholas; daughters, Patricia Tarbell and husband Tim of Austin, TX and Carol "Callie" Colson of Lake Charles; brothers, James Odom, Homer Odom, Omer Odom, and Richard Odom, all of Texas; grandchildren, Ashley Reed, Chase Petitjean, and Rachel Hammond; and great-grandchildren, Elisabeth Falgout, Cassidy Reed, Isaiah Gabriel Hammond, Megan Petitjean, and Nicholas Reed.

She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Nicholas.

Her cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
