Michael A. Selfridge

Michael Allen Selfridge of Lake Charles, LA passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 4, 2018 in a local hospital. Michael was born in Elk City, OK on October 21, 1948 to James and Uteva Booher Selfridge.

Michael, or Mike as he was known to his friends graduated from Chickasha High School and worked for many years in the oil field and later moved to Lake Charles, LA. Mike was an avid Oklahoma State University Cowboys fan and he enjoyed watching St. Louis High School athletics. Mike loved to hunt and fish and actually referred to himself as a “Jack of all trades and master of none”. He really enjoyed spending time with his family as well as his dog Bijon Frise “Bella”.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of ten years, Carolyn, along with his daughters; Wendy (George) Martin, Jaime (Jim) Womack and Angelia (Richard) Mohr, along with his sons Tyler and Josh Selfridge. He also leaves his brothers, Jim (Carol) Selfridge and Phil (Sandy) Selfridge.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home from 5-8PM on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9-11AM with the funeral service beginning at 11:00AM, officiated by Jim Selfridge. Interment will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
