Michael Alan Istre

Michael Istre, 48, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014 in a local hospital. Services for Michael will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 1 pm at Faith Temple Church in Sulphur, LA with Reverend Sidney Fontenot officiating. Visitation will start at 10 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines South. Michael loved anything outdoors. He loved to be on the water fishing or shrimping. He was also a musician who loved to play drums, lead guitar and bass. He also loved to cook, mostly Cajun food. Michael attended Sowela for culinary school and worked as a chef at Chateau Charles specializing in cinnamon rolls. Michael went on many medical missionary trips to Honduras with Sidney Fontenot. Michael is survived by his parents, Darrell and Peggy Istre; one brother, Kevin (Donna) Istre; two sisters, Shanna (Elwood) Landry and Pamelia (Matthew) Palombo; and one son, Joshua Trent Istre. Michael is preceded in death by his brother, Steven Trent Istre.
