Michael Anthony Tassin

Michael Anthony "Mike" Tassin, 57, of Moss Bluff, LA died at 6:03 PM on Friday, November 21, 2014 in a local care facility. Mr. Tassin was born April 12, 1957 in Mansura, LA, and lived most of his life in Alexandria, LA before moving to Moss Bluff in 1994. He graduated from Bolton High School in 1975 and worked in Consumer financing for the past thirty-four years. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church and was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. He will always be remembered as a family man who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. Mike could often be found at his grandchildren's football and baseball games and practices. His happy and loving personality was almost magnetic, drawing kids and friends to him. Mr. Tassin is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Kim Tassin of Moss Bluff; daughter, Monica Young and husband Keith; son, Derrick Tassin; grandsons, Trey, Drake and Brody Young, all of Moss Bluff; mother, Betty Lou Tassin of Alexandria, LA; parents-in-law, Richard and Sae Cournoyer of Moss Bluff; sisters, Linda White and husband Doug, of Alexandria, LA, Brenda Marino of Connecticut, and Kathy Ross and husband Mike of Alexandria, LA; and sister-in-law, Angela Tassin, also of Alexandria, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Tassin and brother, Wayne Tassin. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Jeffery Ralston will officiate. Burial will follow in New Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
