Michael “Bubba” Hart, 50, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, February 19, 2021 in his home.
Mr. Hart was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a 1988 graduate of LaGrange High School and continued his education at McNeese State University where he attained a Bachelor of Science in Business. Following graduation, he went on to study Process Technology at McNeese during which time he was hired on at W.R. Grace where he has worked nearly twenty-five years as an Operator. Mr. Hart followed his fathers’ interest in woodworking and has instilled their interest in his sons. He leaves signature pieces such as many cornhole washer boards to furniture for his family and friends, lockers for the Barbe High School softball gym to see-saws and baby swings for his grandchildren. He enjoyed running, having participated in many 5 K’s at the Civic Center, primarily for local fund raisers for a cause and also completed a 13.1 marathon. Mr. Hart was an admirable man of family unity, a devoted son, husband and father and an overwhelmingly proud grandfather. His knowing that he would be spending time with his grandchildren instantly brightened his spirit and smile just as he brightened theirs. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and sense of humor.
He leaves to honor his memory, his wife of thirty-three years, Michelle Fontana Hart of Lake Charles; three children, Christopher Hart (Jessica), Corey Hart (Arrianne) and Emily Hart, all of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Tempie Hart, Dominic Hart, Carter Hart, Colby Hart and Blayke Guillory; parents, Mickey and Gay Hart of Lake Charles; sister, DeeDee Hart Woodson of Lake Charles; father and mother-in-law, Joe and Janis Fontana of Lake Charles; niece, Regan Woodson and nephew, Mat Woodson, both of Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Peter Fontana and nephew, Philip Woodson.
