Michael Clinton Rollins

November 17, 1953 — April 22, 2011

Michael Clinton Rollins, 57, of Lake Charles died Friday, April 22, 2011 in the comfort of his home.


Mr. Rollins was born in Jennings, LA and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Marion High School and Sowela Technical Institute. He worked twenty five years as an Automation Technician for BP Amaco. Mr. Rollins was a very talented vocalist whom often had requests from friends and family to sing for special occasions. He was a member of the Messiah Chorus for fifteen years. He was also a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.


Mr. Rollins will be most remembered for his love of his family, wisdom and kind heart.


He leaves to honor his memory his loving wife of thirty one years, Carrie "Becky" Cryar Rollins of Lake Charles; three daughters, Sarah Callahan and husband John of Vidor, TX, Amanda Rollins of Afghanistan and Jennifer Newton and husband Dean of Lake Charles; two sons, Joshua Rollins and Jacob Rollins, both of Lake Charles; one granddaughter, Diana Jennifer Newton of Lake Charles and many nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Derrial Ogden and Marjorie Shultz Rollins and one brother, Paul Ogden Rollins.


Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, April 25, 2011 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Aaron Young will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation Monday will be from 12:00 PM until the time of service in the church.
