Michael Fernest Trahan, 53, of Lake Charles went to heaven on November 2, 2014 at 6:25 a.m. in his resident due to a long battle with cancer. Michael was born in Lake Charles on March 22, 1961. He was a hard working man who supported his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed getting up early on Sunday mornings drinking his coffee, listening to Zydeco music while spending time with his family. Michael loved the outdoors, he loved to go fishing, camping, crabbing, and so much more. He loved his family and friends and they loved him. Michael is survived by his wife Judith F. Trahan of Lake Charles, and their eight beautiful children and their spouse; Ashley M. Trahan, Stacy L. Vellion and Anthony "Tony " Carrizales, Katherine N. Trahan and Johnathon Whatley, Brittany Trahan and Clayton Esthay all of Sulphur, April R. Trahan and Jose Ontiveros of Beaumont, TX, Kenneth A. Trahan and wife, Nicole of Washington DC, Tiffany D. Zuniga and husband, Alex of Elsa, TX and Morgan J. Trahan and Jemery Hooper of Lake Charles; his two sisters, Vickie Montgomery of Westlake and Sundy Welch of Sulphur; his brother, Mickey Trahan of Sulphur; 19 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph F. Trahan and Margie D. Trahan; his brother, Gary W. Trahan and his sister, Veronica F. Trahan. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lamar Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Farquhar Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 9:00 AM at the funeral home until time of the service.
