Michael James Reed, 30, of Sulphur, LA, passed away on March 1, 2014. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 3-9 pm and resume Friday, March 7, 2014 from 8am until time of service. Services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 10 am at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Evers officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines South. Michael was a lifelong resident of Sulphur. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 2002 and McNeese State University in 2005. He was an operator at Phillips 66 Refinery. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His passion was spear fishing. He was a member of the Helldivers Spear Fishing Club out of Venice, LA and the Southern Stoners out of Sulphur, LA. He was recognized by Koah Spear Guns Magazine and Spearing Magazine for his underwater photography, talent, and love for the sport. He is survived by his mother and stepdad, Trisha and Stephen Smith; father and stepmom, Andy and Lisa Reed; brothers, Corbett Reed, David Reed, and Dakota Smith; sisters, Kallie Smith and Missy Reed; nieces, MaKaela Hilton, Alexis, and Charlee Reed; grandmother, Mary Lou Ardoin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph Weber Ardoin; grandfather and grandmother, Calvin and Emma Reed; Uncle, Corbett Reed; and cousins, Steven Phillip Ardoin, Heidi Adele Hinton, and Joseph Bill Hodge.
