Michael Keith "Bubba" Farris, 60, of Lake Charles passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in a Houston hospital.
Mr. Farris was born on January 5, 1958 in Houston, TX and lived there until moving to Lake Charles 18 years ago. He was a graduate of Spring High School in Spring, TX. Mr. Farris worked for Continental Airlines for many years, holding many positions and retiring as a reservation supervisor. He was a member of Westlake Pentecostal Church.
He will be remembered for his cross stitching, especially those he did for birth announcements, as well as his love for singing for the Lord. Mr. Farris and his wife enjoyed traveling and would frequent cruise ships.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 22 years, Vickie Monk Farris; daughter, Stephanie Farris Fearnow and son in law, Matthew of Poland, IN; sister, Sheryl Lyons and brother in law, Glen of Crosby, TX; three grandchildren, Dory, Allison, and Lillian Fearnow; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind long time friends, Keith Boyd of Dallas, TX and Shawn Holliday of Brenham, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sandra and Thomas Farris.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Mark Stanton and Rev. Dennis Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until the start of the service.
