Michael Rhett Hafner

December 5, 1948 — October 16, 2014

Michael Rhett Hafner, 65, passed away in a local hospital unexpectedly on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from a sudden illness. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan Lana Hafner of Lake Charles, LA; his parents, Esther and Charles Hafner; one sister, Carol Niedermeier and husband John; niece, Heather Niedermeier; nephew, Cody Michael Niedermeier, all from Willard, Ohio. Michael retired from SASOL after 36 years. He was a lay minister and took joy in teaching the bible to everyone. A memorial service will be held at a later date in his hometown, in Willard, Ohio where he began his ministry playing the trumpet regularly at church. Now we are confident he and Jesus will be talking things over about that last trumpet blast. Mike loved teaching and discussing prophecy. Now he knows the correct answers. Mike's generous heart was evident in death by his wishes to donate his body that others may live. He and his wife founded a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the truth: One Touch from God is greater than all the world can offer. Memorial donations in Michael's honor may be made to One Touch Awakening, PO Box 16838, Lake Charles, LA 70616.
