Michael Shad Cook

Michael Shad Cook, 22, of Moss Bluff, LA passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015. Michael was a native and life resident of the Lake Charles and Moss Bluff area and attended Sam Houston High School. He was a fun loving, big hearted character. Fishing was a favorite pastime of his. He would help anyone in need and was extremely generous. He will truly be missed by the ones who loved him most. Michael is survived by his mother and step-father, Shawn Cook George and Wayne George of Moss Bluff; older brother, Jeremy Cook and wife Gina; sisters, Mandy Cook and fiancé Tyler Witherwax, Melissa Cook, Emily and Allison George; maternal grandparents, Bill and Connie Brown; paternal grandfather, Richard Cook; maternal great-grandmother, Ruby Brown; niece, Cecillia Buller; nephew, Tristan Buller; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Shad Cook; sister, Ashley Renee Cook; great-grandparents, Odie and Eva Trahan, Paul Brown, Velma Beavers, Frances Cook, Nell Lee, Leah Beth Cook, and Buddy Lee. His funeral will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 22, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend E. T. Browning will officiate. Burial will follow in Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Thursday from 9:00 AM unit the start of the service.
