Michael Wayne Abney

Michael Wayne Abney, 54, of Lake Charles, died Tuesday, December 07, 2010 in his residence.

Mr. Abney attended high school in Houma, LA. He worked as a self employed Tree Arborist. He enjoyed playing Frisbee, riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles and the beach. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Abney will be most remembered for his kind, fun loving and obnoxious spirit. "All children and all animals loved him".

He leaves to honor his memory, one daughter, Alexis Louise Sheridan; three grandchildren, Brookleigh and Landyn Sheridan and Shannan Laird, all of Lake Charles; his mother, Eva Faye Rickman of Houma; three brothers, Kenneth Abney of Houma, Ramus Benoit, JR. of Angola and Larry Benoit of Denham Springs; life companion, Betty Ann Sheridan Deshotel and step- son Douglas Deshotel, both of Lake Charles; step- daughters, Koleen Lewis and Nicky Newman, both of Ragley; and niece, Krystal Daigle and great- niece, Krystan Daigle, both of Lake Charles.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Abney and ex- wife, Maxine Higginbotham.

A gathering of family and friends will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Prien Lake Park.
