Michelle Guidry Streeter

December 21, 1966 — September 17, 2021

Michelle Renee Guidry Broussard Streeter, 54, of Lake Charles was welcomed into Heaven Friday, September 17, 2021 from the comfort of her home, surrounded by family.

Michelle lived most of her life in the Lake area.  She was a graduate of Sulphur High School and Delta Tech School of Business where she obtained a degree in accounting.  She worked many of her younger years in the offices at PPG Industries.  Her last fifteen years in the work force were truly rewarding, as they were spent traveling to designated disaster areas as an Accountable Property Officer under the Disaster Assistance Employee Cadre for FEMA.  For fun, she loved Louisiana Festival events, the food and dancing the night away with her dad.  Michelle had a creative mind and talented hands, often collecting roadside items and turning them into impressive pieces of rustic art.  She also enjoyed collecting Special Edition and Holiday Barbies, varieties of boots and bling that expressed her personality and collecting seashells and treasures along the beach with her grandchildren.  She was a small and mighty spirit of positive and optimistic energy, who always brightened any room she entered and the spirit of those who surrounded her.  Michelle will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her family, the unity and joy within it and the countless great days started with her smile and signature breakfast.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Jacob Ryan Streeter of Boston, MA and Jody Paul Broussard of New Iberia; three grandchildren, Kennedy Marie Broussard, Maddox Paul Broussard and Benjamin Chase Broussard; two sisters, Stephanie Guidry Meche (Michael) of Moss Bluff and Jamie Guidry Simon Hart (Darrell) of Moss Bluff; nieces and nephews, Cody Guidry, Alex Lohnes, Taylor Simon, Dylan Meche, Tyler Meche and Maddison Meche and godchild, Braiana Staggs of Sulphur.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul James Guidry and Emma Fontenot Guidry and her son, Brandon Chase Broussard.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff.  Tanya Thigpen, one of Michelle’s oldest and dearest friends, will lead her services.  Interment services will follow at Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.  Visitation Monday will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home in Moss Bluff.
