Mildred Andrus, 85, of Lake Charles left this world to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2018.
Mrs. Andrus was born on January 24, 1932 to Emma and Flem Laird in Oakdale. She grew up in Oakdale and resided there until moving to Lake Charles for the past 16 years. She was a proud member of the Catholic Daughters for Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oakdale and enjoyed baking yeast rolls and cinnamon rolls for church events. Mrs. Andrus also enjoyed spending her spare time quilting with church friends and spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cheryl Rodriguez of Tomball, TX, Connie Ware and husband Shirley, of Houma, LA, Sandra “Sam” LeBlanc, of Lake Charles, LA, Bert H. Andrus II and wife Lisa of Earleville, MD, and Blane H. Andrus and wife Lydia of Lake Charles, LA; sister, Betty Fuselier of Oberlin, LA; brother, Alex Buxton and wife Patsy of Oakdale, LA; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Mrs. Andrus is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 51 years, Bert H. Andrus; her two sons-in-law, Charles Rodriguez and Roger LeBlanc; as well as seven siblings.
Her funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oakdale, LA at 12:00 PM. Father Jenesh Joseph will officiate. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Oakdale. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
