Mildred B. Johnson

Kinder- Mrs. Mildred B. Johnson, 93, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 in Lake Charles. She was a native of Birmingham, AL and resided in Kinder since her marriage to Louie Johnson in 1948 until 1998. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Kinder Bible Church and a member of Ladies Aid. She enjoyed participating in various activities with the Home Demonstration Club. Prior to her move to Louisiana, she cared for her widowed mother by working at various jobs including department stores and wiring B52 bombers during WWII.


She is survived by her four daughters, Janice Johnson Griffin and husband Jerry Griffin of Lake Charles, Martha Johnson Broussard and husband Dr. David Broussard of Frisco, TX, Angie Johnson of New Iberia, Theresa Johnson Guidroz and husband Russell Guidroz of Lake Charles; 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Louie Johnson and grandson, Jason Blanchard.


Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16, 2011 at 11AM in Kinder Bible Church. Dr. David Broussard will officiate. Burial will follow in LeBlanc Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home from 5pm-8pm and will continue Monday at Kinder Bible Church from 9am until time of service.
