Mildred Lafleur

Mildred Annette LaFleur, 83, of Lake Charles, LA passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 in her residence; surrounded by her loving family. Mildred was born on July 16, 1935 in Jennings, LA to Nelson and Rose Fontenot.

Mildred was a loving and caring person who enjoyed dancing and entertaining people in her home. She dedicated her time to raising her children, and spending time with her husband. Mildred loved to get up, enjoy a cup of coffee, and get her day started early. She also loved to work at nursing homes from time to time. Probably the best description of her is “Mom was just Mom”.

Mildred is preceded in death by: her parents, her husband of 53 years, Duffy LaFleur, along with seven brothers, and two sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters: JoAnn (Robert) Bourque, Debra Batey, and Tessie LeDoux; her son David (Cathy) Vincent; nine grandchildren, Autumn, Sommer, Kristy, Steve, Brett, Nicki, Brian, Ashley, Lynn, and Darrel along with 23 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on, Wednesday, April 17, 2019, from 12-2PM. A Funeral Liturgy will begin at 2PM, officiated by, Msgr. Harry Greig. Burial will follow at, LeBleu Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
