Sulphur On Wednesday October 20, Mil Mobley, 87 passed from this life to her forever home in Heaven. She was a native of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, born to Vurlen and Minnie Dennis Clark on January 3, 1923. Upon marrying, she and her husband Aubrey L. Mobley made their home in the Maplewood community of Sulphur around 1943. Mil and Aubrey were founding members of the Maplewood Church of Christ where they served their Lord until their passing.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at the Maplewood Church of Christ on Saturday October 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM with the minister Brian Spicer and close friends Bill McClendon and Roger Corley officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 PM at the church for friends and family.
Mildred was a homemaker first, but also worked at Agee's and Dale's Drug Stores, as well as being a drapery seamstress for Muller's Department Store in the 1960's. She was friend of so many, and in her last illness was served by those many friends and loved ones. Special thanks go to Odyssey Hospice nurse Laurelle Shirley and Hospice personnel for all their love and care during this last year.
She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband of 50 years, Aubrey, and special family Randall and Jimmie Petross. Survivors include one son, Dale Robert Mobley and wife Melinda of Carlyss, daughter Connie Miller and husband Peter of Sulphur; and daughter Donnie Charlene Ellis of Alexandria; her sister/cousin Wanda Ward and husband Grady of Lake Charles; grandchildren Laura Miller of Houston, Matthew Mobley Sulphur, William Rohrer of Tyler and Wendy Rohrer of Houston; and great-grandchildren, Bryce, Macey, and Angelique; many nieces, nephews, cousins and her wonderful friends.
