Mildred Mary Pelafigue

Funeral Services for Mrs. Pelafigue, 84, of West Monroe, LA will be held 1:00 PM Monday September 6, 2010 in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA with Fr. Tony Fontenot officiating. Interment will follow at Big Lake Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA.

Mrs. Pelafigue was born on January 21, 1926 in Big Lake, LA and passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 in West Monroe, LA. She attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Lake Charles. While living in West Monroe, she attended the Hoffman Sunday School class at First Baptist Church in West Monroe. Mrs. Pelafigue enjoyed gardening, birds, being a homemaker, a devoted catholic, and her family was everything to her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Edna Marchantel, husband of 60 years, John "Jimmy" Pelafigue, grandson, Matthew Pratt, 2 sisters, and 1 brother,

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Pelafigue Kolb and husband Charlie; sister, Verdie Douglas; grandchildren, Cassie Kavanaugh and husband Ray, Hollie Pratt, and Jamie Pratt; great grandchildren, Kyle, Kaleigh, and Korra Kavanaugh; her God child, Donna Dodds; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Dodds, Brandon Dodds, Ray Kavanaugh, Kyle Kavanaugh, Ben Fontenot, and Zeb Kile.

Visitation will be held at Mulhearn Funeral Home on Sunday September 5, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and from 12:00 P.M. until service time Monday at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles.
