Mildred Theresa Arendt

November 30, 1925 — July 3, 2022

Mildred Theresa Arendt was the oldest of five children born to Ervin and Agnes Arceneaux. She was born November 30, 1925 in Castille, LA.

Her family relocated to the Lake Charles area when she was five years old. During World War Two she took a job serving her country as a riveter at Lake Charles Air Base. While attending a USO dance, she met Edward G. Arendt, an Air Force man stationed here from Connecticut. They were wed and continued to live in the Lake Charles Area.

Following her time as a riveter, she began working as a cashier. Over the years she was employed with Theriots Grocery and Weingarten. She was happily employed with Weingartens for over thirty years, retiring as their Bakery Manager.

She was a devout parishioner of St. Margaret Catholic Church. Spending time with her family was important to her, nothing brought her more joy than seeing them and playing her favorite card game, Boo-Ray with her best friend Bentley. She never missed an opportunity to cook for her family, especially for the holidays. Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter were her favorites.
