Mindy Elizabeth Lavoi, 44, of Houston, TX, died on Thursday, August 31, 2017 in a Houston hospital.

 

Mindy was born April 9, 1973 in Iowa City, IA, and raised in West Monroe, LA, where she attended high school and was a graduate of Tulane University. She lived a number of years in Lake Charles before settling in Houston, TX in 2010. She was raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of Immaculate Conception Cathedral when she lived in Lake Charles and Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Houston. Mindy worked as the Fleet Manager for Cosentino USA in Sugarland for the past five years. She was a loving wife and mother, avid LSU Tigers fan, and loved Wonder Woman.

 

Mindy was full of life, she never met a stranger and had great love and devotion for her family and many friends. She was electric, energetic and charismatic, she enjoyed many hobbies including dance, travel, photography, arts and crafts and spending quality time with her husband and kids. She enjoyed the spice of life and the spice of good foods. She enjoyed sunsets and evening walks on the beach. She was a devoted Christian who believed that through Jesus all things were possible. All that knew her will never forget her, she was a rare spirit and a loving soul and she left behind her heart for all to remember the love she shared with them.

 

Mindy is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Ronnie Lavoi, Jr.; sons, Cody Lavoi, Michael Masters, and Brady Lavoi; daughters, Angelina Lavoi, Sydney Lavoi, Amber Stewart, Allisha McCready, Delaney Mayo, and Alexis Lavoi; mother, Susan McCready; mother-in-law, who she loved as her own, Janet Deshotel; sisters, Jackie Danner and Katie Howze; grandchildren, Landon, Lilly, and Liam; and close friends, Kim Tumlison Linda Whitten, Tonya Smith, Lynn Kindrix, Mindy Brown, Nil Koray, Zuleima Yidi Lewis, Gabriela de la Torres, and Trudy Traino.

 

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
