Mitchell Paul David

Mitchell Paul David, a beloved father and honorable veteran, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023, in a local hospital at the age of 74.  He was born on June 21, 1948 to Herman and Leora David in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Mitchell served his country with distinction as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated father and husband who always put his family first.  Mitchell will be remembered as a kind and loving father and husband, a dedicated patriot, and a faithful Christian. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife, Charlotte McNiel David; his two sons, Luke Allen David (Stacey) and Seth Adam David (Stacey), both of Lake Charles, Louisiana; his daughter, Carol Gary (John) and his son Kyle Landry (Shelly); fifteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and his siblings, John David (Dianne), Kathryn Ledoux (Ray), Elizabeth Pellerin, Cindy Courville (Reggie), Philip David and Rafe David (Mary).  He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Juanita Bertrand David.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at St. Margaret Catholic Church, with Msgr. Jace Eskind serving as Celebrant. Following the service, Mitchell will be laid to rest in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM.
