Modesto Guerrero, Jr., 55, of Lake Charles, LA died at 8:09 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2015 in a Lake Charles, LA hospital. Mr. Guerrero was born December 14, 1959 in Brownsville, TX, where he lived all of his life until moving to Lake Charles a year ago to be closer to family. He worked for AOC as a manager for over fifteen years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, bowling, playing golf, fishing and playing pool. He loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren and loved to bring them on vacations with him. Mr. Guerrero will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his joking personality and as one of the most caring individuals you could ever meet. Mr. Guerrero is survived by his children, Modesto Guerrero, III and girlfriend, Jessica Weaver of Lake Charles, Rosamaria DeLaluz Guerrero and husband Rick Chavez of Houston, TX, and Andy Guerrero of Lake Charles; siblings, Antonio Guerrero, Juanita Cervantez, Jose Guerrero, Maria Guerrero, and Ignacio Guerrero, all of Brownsville, TX; grandchildren, Anysia Marie Guerrero, Modesto Guerrero, IV, Andy Guerrero, Jr., Jose Angel Guerrero, Itzel Lizette Guerrero, and Sophia Elena Guerrero; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Elena Abrego Guerrero; parents, Modesto Guerrero, Sr. and Luz Infante Guerrero; and brother, Margarito Guerrero. His memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. A gathering of family and friends will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service with a rosary at 3:00 PM.
