Mollie Lejeune

Mollie LeJeune, age 88, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010, at a local care facility.

A resident of Lake Charles, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family and especially taking care of them. Mrs. LeJeune was a true homemaker, always cooking for her family, enjoying every minute of it. Sewing was also a favorite pastime for her as well. She and her husband were one of the original members of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Preceding her in death was a son, Keith LeJeune, a son-in-law, Mike Campbell, and her godchild, Kathryn Lyon. She will be missed dearly by her family and by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Sidney LeJeune of Lake Charles; a son, Charles LeJeune and wife, Sammy of Lake Charles; a daughter, Karen Campbell of Lake Charles; a daughter-in-law, JoAnn LeJeune of Lafayette; a sister, Lillian Lyon of Lake Charles; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 1, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Msgr. James Gaddy will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Lake Arthur under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday, December 31, 2010, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, January 1, from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 7 p.m. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to The Guardian and to Odyssey Hospice for all their love and care they gave to Mrs. LeJeune during her illness.
