Molly Jean Ferrell

December 26, 1930 — June 11, 2013

Molly Jean Ferrell, 82, of Lake Charles, Louisiana died at 7:07 PM Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at her daughter's residence with her loving family at her side.


Mrs. Ferrell was born in Oakdale, Louisiana and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a 1947 graduate of St. Charles Academy. Mrs. Ferrell was a member of Glad Tidings Church where she worked in the Dorcas Room. She was a member of the Lady's Prayer Group, the Young at Heart Group, and the Widows Group. In addition to her church family and volunteer work, her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Mrs. Ferrell is survived by one daughter, Velina Racca and husband Carl of Iowa, LA, two sons: Timothy Plumlee and wife Sherrie of Renton, WA, and Calvin Ferrell and wife Nancy Jo of Sulphur, LA, eight grandchildren: Shelly Emmons and husband Donovan, Amanda Cole and husband Chris, Debbie Soloman and husband Wes, Johnathan Plumlee, Heidi Plumlee, Justin Racca and wife Sabrina, Kristen Nazworth and husband Nathan, and Mandy Kingham and husband Dallas; and seven great-grandchildren, Travis Racca, Emily Racca, Jackson Nazworth, Payton Racca, Landon Nazworth, Madilyn Racca, Katie Nazworth, and Ryan and Cody Morast.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ferrell; and son, Alvin Ferrell.


Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Brothers Gary Evers and Bill Cornwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Cryer Cemetery in Oakdale, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM and continue on Friday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
