Monte Keith Hewitt, 69, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in a local nursing home. He was met at the gates of heaven by his parents, Kenneth and Mina Wagner Hewitt. Monte was born in Sulphur on December 2, 1942. He is survived by his wife, companion and best friend of 49 years, Adelle Thibodeaux Hewitt; one daughter, Tina Maria Hewitt Willoughby and son-in-law, David Willoughby; one grandson, Joshua Cade Willoughby; and one granddaughter, Brianna Mackenzie Willoughby. He leaves behind two little Chihuahuas " Rusty and Cindy Lou. Monte worked 34 years as a boilermaker welder for Local #79 in Lake Charles. He loved hunting and fishing and was an avid football fan for the Sulphur Tors, McNeese Cowboys, LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. Monte also loved planting a garden and enjoyed sharing the produce with friends and family. Monte has been battling cancer for the last four years. He and his family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and the staff of Holly Hill Nursing Home and Odyssey Hospice for their excellent care. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Russell Beard officiating. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly, LA. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 27, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Saturday at 9 a.m. until time of service.
