Mura Nell Marie Manuel Manuel

Mura Nell Marie Manuel Manuel, 76, of Moss Bluff, LA, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2021 in her residence, in the arms of her daughter.

Mrs. Manuel was born November 24, 1944 in Eunice, LA, where she was raised and graduated from Oberlin High School.  She retired from South Central Bell after thirty-two years of service.  Mrs. Manuel was an active member of St. Theodore Catholic Church.  She loved the Mardi Gras season and served twice on court with Krewe de Grand Bois.  Her true passion in life was for her family.  She always enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren and loved going to McNeese Football games with her husband Murphy.

Mrs. Manuel is survived by her loving daughter, Marla Manuel Reed and husband Keith Joseph Reed; second husband, D. Murphy Guidry; step-sons, Jamie Guidry and wife Hope and Chad Guidry; sister, Debra Manuel Fontenot; grandchildren who she was extremely proud of, Makinzy Yeates Fontenot and husband Joshua Fontenot and Kurtis “Beaux” Raymond Yeates and wife Megan Jacobs Yeates, and twins that she called her “miracle babies” Samuel D. Meche, and J. Luke Meche; and great-grandchildren, Jondavid, Marian, Kolbe, and Reuben Fontenot.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of twenty-nine years, John Burke Manuel; her parents, Boy and Eola Manuel; and sister she loved dearly, Carol Manuel Sonnier Jones.

The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Judy, Reggie, and Jason for loving and caring enough to always be there.

Her funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, August 13, 2021 at St. Theodore Catholic Church.  Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate.  Her graveside service will be at 3:00 PM on Friday at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Chataignier, LA.  Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a rosary at 5:00 PM.  Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:40 AM.
