Myra Ella Mccall Jones

Myra Ella McCall Jones, 100, of Sulphur, LA, died at 1:34 AM on Saturday, September 11, 2010 in her residence.

Born July 30, 1910 in Learned, MS and raised in McComb, MS, Mrs. Jones moved to the Lake Charles area in 1940 and has lived the last thirty-three years in Sulphur. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading and playing games on the computer. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and will always be remembered for her wonderful cooking.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her son, George Virgil Jones and wife Connie of Lake Charles; daughter, Carolyn Faye Jones of Sulphur; grandchildren, George Virgil Jones, Jr. and wife Lori of Nashville, TN and Leigh Erin Perry of Lake Charles; great-grandchildren, Ella Grace Perry and Della Margaret "Meg" Jones; niece, Joyce Dooley of Clarksville, MD; and nephew, William Lee McCall of McComb, MS.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Jewell Jones; four sisters; and seven brothers.

Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Chris Fuselier will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
