Myrle Miller Landry, 93, of Lake Charles passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 in a local hospice facility, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Landry was born in Petite Mamou, LA on January 3, 1927 to Anna and Ben Miller. She grew up in Jennings, LA, and was a 1944 graduate of Jennings High School. She was a founding member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Parish, Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters, member of the OLQH Ladies Altar Society, and the OLQH choir. She was an active resident of Villa Maria Retirement Community, and lead the monthly rosary at Our Lady Queen of Heaven.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, J. Michael Landry of Shelton, CT, Thomas Landry (Erin) of Lake Charles, Phyllis Bellon (Russ) of Austin, TX, and Becky Harvell (Danny) of Bryan, TX; son-in-law, Paul Weidner of Sulphur, LA; grandchildren, Amber Lozynski, Amy Weidner, Lisa Lovett, Jana Taylor (Daniel), Michelle Stewart (Scot), J. P. Landry (Carmen), Ellen (Derek), Leah Bellon, Seth Bellon, Jordan Chatham (Jeff), and Clayton Harvell (Mackenzie); 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren; her sisters, Verne DiCristina, Joyce Davis, and Bernetta Summers; and her sister-in-law, Martha Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Joe Landry; her daughter, Nancy Landry Weidner; and siblings, Anita Tarver, Rena Truxillo, Ben Miller, Cuma Lee Domingues, Barbara Reich, and Irma Jones.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Father Trey Ange will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, March 5 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM, and will resume on Friday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 11:30 AM.
