Myrna Davidson Donnelly

April 18, 1937 — January 31, 2021

Myrna Davidson Donnelly (Mrs. Joseph T. Donnelly) born April 18, 1937 in Shreveport. Moved to Maplewood in 1943, once Cities Service finished construction. Graduate of Sulphur High School and attended Northwestern State College and McNeese.  Retired after 34 years from Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.  Member of Delta Zeta Sorority, member of the Mayor’s Commission for Women and Charter Member of Women’s Commission of SWLA, Life Master Duplicate Bridge member of American Contract Bridge League for many years where she served as a certified director for several years, Member of Our Lady of Good Counsel where she served as extraordinary minister of communion, worked for Registrar of Voters as Commissioner and Commissioner in Charge, Hospice Volunteer and an original “pink lady” at Charity Hospital in Lake Charles.  She was also a long-time member of the Calcasieu Forum Book Club. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Vera and Willie Davidson and 2 children Sheila Reuben Joyner and Kathryn Laudumiey; 2 husbands, Harold Arthur Reuben and Marcel A. Laudumiey; along with a host of friends and relatives.  Survivors include husband, Joseph T. Donnelly of Lake Charles; Daughter, Lisa Reuben Ferguson (Jeff)and Daughter, Drew of Lake Charles; Son-in-Law, Gary Joyner (husband of Sheila) of Zachary with daughter, Maggie (Harry) and son, Nash; brother, Robert N. Davidson and his wife, Lana of Sulphur and their daughter, Cary Tassin (David) of Lake Charles and Todd (Shelly) of Oregon; two stepdaughters, Dee Brantley and Dian Darre; along with various nieces and nephews. She was known for her love of all games, reading, and her Catholic faith. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. The Rev. Paul Jessun will officiate.  Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home and inurnment will be held in Consolata Cemetery at a later date.  A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8:00 AM until the start of the service in the church.
