Myrna Mickey Rae Newman

Myrna Mickey Rae Reeves Newman, 73, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 5:01 PM on Monday, June 10, 2013 in a local care facility.

Ms. Newman was born February 26, 1940 in Moss Bluff, LA, where she was raised and lived in Lake Charles for all of her life. She previously worked at the Cowboy Store and Billie's Boutique. She enjoyed spending time with friends at the Black Angus and loved country music and dancing. Mickey was an avid animal lover and also loved spending time on the river and took pride in being called a River Rat.

Ms. Newman is survived by her sons, Bobby Wall and wife Dee of Lake Charles and Wade Wall and wife Terri of Overton, TX; brother, James Reeves and wife Cheryn of Moss Bluff, LA; grandchildren, Hannah Newman, J.W. Pinckley, and Nicole Karam and husband James; great-grandchildren, Rider McCoy Pinckley and Emma and Avery Karam; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Newman; parents, Herman and Elma Pujol Reeves; and sisters, Mary Lou Lampi, Gaynell Doucett, and Beaulah Mae Frederick.

Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Carlos DeLon will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
