Myrtis Marie Miia, 86, was called to her Heavenly home on Saturday, February 22, 2013, with her beloved family at her side.
Born in Kaplan, Louisiana to Edier Cornor, Sr. and Effie Leonard Cornor, Mrs. Miia lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a homemaker for most of her life, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a faithful member of St. Margaret Catholic Church for over 60 years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of sixty-six years, Charles Herman Miia of Lake Charles; devoted daughters, Marie M. Carmouche and husband Jim of Napoleonville and Mona Drendall and husband John of Houston; six grandchildren, Jim Jimbo Carmouche and wife Diane, Christie Carmouche Hodges and husband Jay, Charles Miia Carmouche and wife Kristen, Peter Thomas Carmouche and wife Heather, John Drendall, III and wife Kendahl and Mike Drendall; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Benoit and husband Lawrence of Kaplan; and one brother, Edier Cornor, Jr. and wife Helen Rose of Deer Park, Texas.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at St. Margaret Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Scott Conner will officiate. Interment will be at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on, Tuesday, from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM
Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Miia may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P. O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given their beloved wife and mother to Amanda Dennis and her staff and also the staff of Resthaven Nursing Center.
