Myrtle Benny Gregory

Myrtle Eunice Benny Bostian Gregory, 92, passed away at 4:30 PM on April 29, 2013 surrounded by her family. One Golden Heart went home to our Lord.

Benny was a great mother, grandmother and friend. She always helped the needy and her family. Mrs. Gregory was born in Sheridan, Arkansas on April 30, 1920. She lived in Arkansas until 1945 when her family moved to Alexandria, LA. In 1957 the family moved to Lake Charles. Mrs. Gregory loved her family and enjoyed to dance.

Mrs. Gregory is survived by daughters Juanita (Jay Sr.) Duplantis, Lake Charles and Nancy Beard of Nacogdoches, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 29 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Nancy Bostian, her husband of 57 years, Jessie Gregory, three granddaughters, one grandson, a sister and two brothers.

Visitation will be on Friday May 3, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Home from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Friday with Father Brian King officiating. Burial will be in Consolota Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Abu Shamat and Michelle Nguyen, Divita Dialysis Center, St. Patrick's Hospital and Emergency room staff and Acadian Ambulance for the loving and compassionate care they gave our mother and grandmother during the last years of her life.
