Nancy Fuselier Clausen, 60, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011 after a short illness.
Nancy was born in St. Patrick's Hospital on April 24, 1951. The daughter of Wanda Johnson Fuselier and Elly Fuselier, she was a graduate of LaGrange high School and McNeese State University. A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, LA, Nancy was employed under five different sheriffs at the Calcasieu parish Sheriff's Office during her thirty-two year career, working her way up from Assistant Supervisor to Supervisor of Court Records and Bonds. After her retirement in 2007, she became a substitute teacher at St. Louis Catholic High School and then a bailiff at Ward 3 of the Lake Charles City Court.
Nancy's top priorities were family, faith, and fishing. She also loved to sing and was a member of the choir at St. Margaret Catholic Church for more than twenty-five years, where she frequently served as a cantor. A woman of true grit, Nancy will always be remembered for her sense of humor and her incredible spirit, which brought joy into the lives of all those who met her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy leaves behind her husband of twenty-nine years, Jon P. Clausen; children, Patrick Bordelon and wife Cathryn of Lake Charles, Jon C. Clausen and wife Teri of Moss Bluff, and Brenna Clausen Treland and husband Chris of Thibodaux, LA; four beloved grandchildren, Tad Nope, Gage Clausen, Gabrielle Treland, and Benjamin Treland; brothers, Dwain Fuselier and wife Barbara of Boutte, LA, Rick Fuselier and wife Florence of Lake Charles, LA and Jeff Fuselier and wife Wendy of Houston, TX; and her sister, Lynn Barras and husband Kent of Holmwood.
Her funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Bill Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the funeral home.
