Nancy Joyce Trahan Hardee

Nancy Joyce Trahan Hardee, 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Port Arthur, TX after a short illness.

Mrs. Hardee was born August 25, 1938 in Iowa, LA and was raised in Gillis, where she graduated in 1956. She lived in LeBleu Settlement for over thirty years and lived in Port Arthur, TX for the past ten years. She will always be remembered for her cooking and her loving nature. Nancy also enjoyed crafts and sewing.

Mrs. Hardee is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, J. B. (James Barton) Hardee; daughter, Charlenee Renee' Hardee of Groves, TX; son, Byron Joseph Hardee of Reeves, LA; grandchildren, Branden Maurice Hardee, Jocilin Irene Hardee, and Elisabeth Kait Hardee, all of Lake Charles; sister, Mary Lois Trahan Meche; brother, Frank Fester Trahan; two nieces; and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Chester Douglas; niece, Tambra Faye Trahan Smith; and nephew, Thomas Gene Meche.

Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Trevor Trahan will officiate. Burial will follow in Creel Memorial Gardens in Bel, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Sunday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
