Nancy Maguire O'Brian Rohr, 88, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 in a local hospital. Mrs. Rohr was born in Little Rock, AR, to Reverend Harvey H. Brooks and Zelfa Mae Cones Brooks, raised and educated in Houston, TX and has lived 45 years in Lake Charles. She was a graduate of Milby High School and attended Texas A&M. Mrs. Rohr was an admirable devout Christian Woman. She dedicated her life to the love of her family and her Lord. She was a member of Christ Community Church of Lake Charles, past President of Christian Women's Club, served on the board of Women of the Church of God, Mid-America University and Boys and Girls Village. She served as choir director and Sunday school teacher for over fifty years. She influenced countless people throughout her life; through her love for the Lord and her dependence upon Him. Mrs. Rohr's spirit will be greatly missed in the lives of so many. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Dr. Loren R. Rohr of Lake Charles; three children, Vicki Maguire Follett (Bob) of Dowagiac, MI, Connie Maguire Mathis (Gary) of Newark, OH and Richard Brooks Maguire of Kula, HI; eight grandchildren, Kim Baker, David Follett (Shannon), Scott Follett (Tara), Brandon Mathis (Kim), Brooke Mathis Lemay (Ross), Brie Mathis, Madison Maguire and Grayson Maguire; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Brooks (Betty) and Tom Brooks (Synda); two sisters, Betty Mize (Erv) and Nyla Moore (Richard); sister-in-law, Helen Brooks; six step- children, Ron Rohr, Randy Rohr, Becky Cler (Jarome), Gary Rohr (Jane), Randy O'Brian and Brenda Walker; nine step- grandchildren; and two step- great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Maguire; second husband, Wallace O'Brien; her parents, Harvey and Zelfa Brooks and three brothers, Bill, John and Dan Brooks. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 05, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Rick McClain will officiate. Visitation Wednesday will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home. Interment services Friday will be at 1:00 PM in Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, TX.
