Nathan Thibodeaux, 44, of Westlake died at 10:11 PM on Saturday, September 25, 2010 in his residence with his family at his side.
Nathan was born in Mamou, Louisiana and has lived most of his life in Westlake. He was a 1983 graduate of Westlake High School and attended LSUE in Eunice. Nathan worked as a Captain for the Lake Charles Fire Department for over 22 years. He also worked 20 years part time for the Westlake Police Department. Nathan was a member of the Billiard Congress of America for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Westlake. Nathan was also a member of the Lake Charles Fire Fighters Local # 561. He loved hunting, fishing, billiards and out door activities.
He is survived by his wife of 7 years Angela Floyd Thibodeaux of Westlake, daughter Courtney Nicole Thibodeaux of Moss Bluff, two stepsons Dustin Jones of St. Louis, MO, and Colton McLeod of Ragley, LA, two step daughters Kara Benoit of Lake Charles, and Rachael McLeod of Ragley, one grandson Brody "Shooter" Soileau of Ragley, LA, three brothers: Roderick Thibodeaux and wife Sharon of Baton Rouge, LA, Kevin Thibodeaux of Westlake, LA, and Greg Thibodeaux and wife Katina of Lake Charles, his father Charles Thibodeaux and companion Vena and his mother Verline Marie Catoire Thibodeaux.
Nathan is preceded in death by his grandparents Elzia and Isabelle Thibodeaux.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 10:00 AM from the First Baptist Church in Westlake. Rev. Wayne McIntyre will officiate. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the funeral home and will continue on Tuesday at 8:00 AM at the church.
