Nelma's story began on October 07, 1928 in Church Point, Louisiana. It was there she also found her life-long love, Euel Pellerin, and married in1945. They moved to Lake Charles where they worked hard, built their home, raised a family and enjoyed 70 years together before her death on Friday, July 10, 2015. Family will remember Nelma for her endless energy, practicality, generous helping heart, fried shrimp Fridays and her specialty chocolate sandwiches. The community will see the smiles and shadows she left at her church, behind counters and at the wheel of the big yellow school bus. Nelma is survived by her husband, sons, Larry Pellerin, Jimmy Pellerin and Bryant Pellerin, and daughters, Marlene Pellerin, and Deidre Galloway and husband Steven. She raised granddaughter Sherry Palmer Jackson as her own, and adored granddaughter Megan Galloway, all of Lake Charles. She was special MawMaw to great grandsons Drew and Jordan Jackson of Georgia. She also leaves one sister, Wilda Weiss of South Carolina, and brother Lee Stanford of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by son Ronald Pellerin. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, July 13, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Sunday will be from 4-7 and will continue Monday from 9:00 until the time of service in the funeral home.
