Nelson Paul Louviere, 86, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 11:23 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2015 in his residence. Mr. Louviere was born April 28, 1929 in Lacassine, LA and lived most of his life in Lake Charles, LA. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired as a plant manager at John Micelle Meat Packer after forty years of service. He was also owner and operator of Micelle's in Tommasi Plaza, worked at Hackett's Cajun Kitchen and worked as a cross guard at Henry Heights Elementary School. Mr. Louviere was a member of the Amicus Mardi Gras Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, dancing, horses, and playing cards. He will be remembered as an opinionated family man who always put others first. Mr. Louviere is survived by his sons, Johnny Keith Louviere and wife Darcy of Vinton and Randy Louviere and wife Tina of Moss Bluff; daughter, Susan Darbonne and husband Ken of Sulphur, LA; sister, Dorothy L. Bryant of Lake Charles; sister-in-law that he loved like a daughter, Mary Jane Smith and husband Jack; grandchildren, Jill Robinson, Marcie Arceneaux, Brent Louviere, Blake Louviere, Chris Louviere, Dustin Louviere, Garrett Louviere, Tommy Louviere, Christin LaFleur, Tracy Darbonne, and Allen Darbonne; and eight-teen great-grandchildren with another on-the-way. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Rose Anna Micelle Louviere; three brothers; and grandson, Robert Gobert. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Rocky East will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Cursillo Rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service. The family would like to express a special of word of thanks to the nurses at Heart of Hospice, especially Patra Wilson, for the care and compassion they received.
