Nettie Lyons Bertrand

Nettie Helen Lyons Bertrand, 80, of Sulphur, died Friday, February 24, 2012 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Bertrand was a lifelong resident of Sulphur. She enjoyed fishing. She was a beautiful and kind woman with a great sense of humor. Her greatest joy was caring for her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Bertrand most always had a grandchild at her home, as they loved being with her as much as she loved having them. She will be most remembered for her gumbo and red crab gravy.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Billy Bertrand of Sulphur; Shiela Domingue and husband David of Carlyss and Katie Ravia and husband Roy of Sulphur; one step- daughter, Darlene Lacky and husband Bruce of TX; eight grandchildren; thirteen great- grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; one brother, Charles Ray Lyons and wife Sandra of Edgerly and one sister, Noyka Jean Hutchinson of Newton, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Bertrand; one son, Terrance Lee Bertrand and a sister, Vera Simon.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday February 27, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Bertrand will officiate. Visitation Sunday will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
