Nicholas David Matte, 26, passed away March 7, 2021. Nick was born January 23, 1995 in Baytown, Texas. Nick was the life of the party and you could hear his laughter out of everyone else in the room. He had a great love of baseball and his favorite team was the Texas Rangers. Nick also loved to ride his bike. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. Nick was a very adventurous person and always ended up in the emergency room with a broken bone or cut because of this! Nick’s smile got bigger last year when he became “Nonkie” to his niece, Tyler Brooke. Nick’s passion was working for his grandfather at Sulphur Glass since he was 15. Being surrounded by his family and friends meant the most to Nick.
Nick is survived by his pops, Chuck Matte and wife Tricia; his sister and best friend, Payton Matte and her fiancé Seth Douglas; his niece, Tyler Brooke Douglas; his mother, Jessica Miller Matte; grandparents, Darrell and Linda Matte, Larry and Beverly Miller, Patricia Breaux, and Sally Dunand Gillard; great grandmother, Mabel Thibodeaux; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and the best friends a guy could ask for.
