Nick Alan Baccigalopi

February 15, 1960 — March 23, 2022

Nick Alan Baccigalopi was born February 15, 1960 in Creole, Louisiana. He was one of six children born to Joseph S. and Lorraine T. Baccigalopi.

He attended South Cameron High School where he played the trombone in band, during the Tarpon’s football season and graduated class of 1978.

Upon graduation he worked alongside his father learning carpentry, then went on to earn a living as a heavy equipment operator in oil field construction for over thirty years. He was a proud father and family man to his three children; Erica, Theresa, and Tony. Creole was his lifelong home until his displacement due to Hurricane Rita & Ike. He was active in the community, always lending a helping hand for KC fundraisers, or various public or school related activities. He was known for showing up, his twelve foot BBQ trailer in tow to put “Grillmaster” skills to work. His hobbies also included deer hunting, carpentry, raising rabbits, and working on his Kioti tractor.

He was a family man and spending time with his children and grandchildren brought him immense joy. It took a single date with Renee Blankenship that he knew he would marry her. On January 8, 2016 he welcomed Renee, her four children, and grandchildren into his life. He was always a phone call away and always ready to lend a helping hand to whatever his children needed.

He was a man of faith, family and a two-time champion of Leukemia, through all his tribulations he never lost his faith, smile, or ability to bring happiness to those he cared about most. His family wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to his baby sister Esther, for being a perfect match for him to receive a stem cell transplant. It was through her selfless gift they cherish the extra year they shared with him.

He was welcomed into Heaven on March 23, 2022 by his grandparents, Jim and Edna Baccigalopi, and Gladys and Jasper Ogea; and his mother in-love, Alice Blankenship.

Those left to carry on his grillmaster ways; his wife of six years, Renee Baccigalopi; children, Erica (Jerad) Bradley, Theresa (TJ) Menard, Tony (Laken) Baccigalopi, Stacie (Kenneth) Elliott, Whitany (Bill) Acheson, Cody Parsley, and Colton Parsley; grandchildren, Arianna, Aiden, Elijah, Jonah, Gabriel, Klaire, Karter, Kamille, Harlan, Kadyn, Tripp, Teal, and Tanny; parents, Joseph S. and Lorraine T. Baccigalopi; siblings, Joel (Sherry) Baccigalopi, Susan (Donald) Hebert, Doyle (Nila) Baccigalopi, and Esther Baccigalopi; many nieces and nephews he loved dearly.
