Nickolas Joseph Nocilla

November 13, 1997 — November 16, 2023

Nickolas Joseph Nocilla, 26, of Lake Charles passed away on Thursday November 16, 2023 in Lake Charles.

Nick was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He went to A.A. Nelson Elementary School, S.J. Welch Middle School and was a 2016 graduate of Barbe High School. All through school Nick enjoyed being a part of sports. He primarily played baseball, then in high school played football before becoming a member of the Fishing Team the first year it was started at Barbe High School, becoming State Fishing Champions. After high school, he continued to participate in sports by playing golf, umpiring baseball games, and took up the game of billiards. Whether playing a game of pool, umpiring little league, or hunting and fishing, he was always at his best being around others. He enjoyed hanging out with and entertaining not only his friends, but anyone near him. Nick was always the life of the party and was a passionate fan of anything LSU and his many adventures of MUM and SUN!

Nick had a contagious personality. He would always be there to try and cheer up friends and family. His smirky grin could warm the most downtrodden mood. He would give the shirt off of his back to a perfect stranger.

Nick leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memory a large group of family and friends including his father, Frank Nocilla; mother, Wendy Blankenship Clayton; and stepfather, Paige Clayton, all of Lake Charles; stepmother, Wendy Dacus, Jacksonville, TX; siblings, Hannah Nocilla Minton (Mark), The Woodlands, TX; Marlie Clayton, Lake Charles; Campbell Nocilla, Jacksonville, TX; Devaney Clayton (Makenzie Tate), Lake Charles; Morgan Clayton, Lake Charles; Kenner Powell, Jacksonville, TX; paternal grandmother, Alice Webb, Lake Charles; maternal grandmother, Brenda Blankenship, Lake Charles; niece and nephews, Grey, Parker and Sutton; aunts and uncles, Lisa Nesselrodt, Stacey Blankenship, Jason Nocilla, Leah Nocilla and his Nanny, Erin Nocilla Ardoin and countless cousins, friends and extended family of the heart. Nick is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Frank Nocilla, Jr; maternal grandparents, William “Larry” Blankenship, Jr. and Edna Christine Serrette; and cousin, Jarrett William Graham.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Sale Street Baptist Church, 1611 Sale Rd., Lake Charles, LA 70605 on Monday November 20 and will continue Tuesday November 21 at the church from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
