Nina Lou Fetzer

November 26, 1939 — March 3, 2025

Nina Lou Fetzer, 85, of Lake Charles, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at Sage Oak care facility. Nina was born in Guymon, Oklahoma on November 26, 1939, to Elber and Myrtle Grantz.

Nina's life was attached to her late husband of 61 years, Paul Fetzer. When you saw one the other was never far away! For years Nina enjoyed working in her church library and singing in the choir! She delighted herself and spent hours creating scrapbook albums of her trips with Paul and memories of her children and grandchildren. She also loved playing dominos with her church lady friends!

Those left to cherish her memories are her sons: Brent Fetzer and wife Cynde (Pettit) of Lake Charles, their family includes children: Alexis and her husband John Sharp, Ashley and her husband Blair LeJeune, Max, Ford and his wife Jewel, and Ellie. Trent (Pettit) and his wife Kira, Derek (Pettit) and Jordan (Pettit).

Her second son is Scott Fetzer and wife Shannon of Florence, KY, and their family includes McKenna and her husband, Justin Harmon, Madison and husband Kevin VanTongeren, Avery and husband Ben Trelc, Bailey, Evan, and Shane.

And her third son, Steven Fetzer, and his wife Emily (Ashlock) of Springfield, MO and their family includes Barrett, Ben, Elizabeth, Lilibet, Zane (Ashlock) and London (Ashlock).

She also had twelve great grandchildren! With two more on the way!

Gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 2:00PM until 5:00PM, at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions/donations be made to Mirror Ministries, PO Box 4005, Lake Charles, LA. 70606 or to www.susannehughes.org

Thank you to Sage Oak of Lake Charles caregivers and Harbor Hospice for their nursing care while Mom was a resident there. And as a family we want to say thank you to Cynde, Mom's daughter-in-love, who always had a heart and a watchful eye for what was needed to care for Mom.
